Wondering what types of boat need a Vent-Tender, or how to use one? Watch these instructional videos.
Using Vent-Tender from the gunnel: Part 1
Using Vent-Tender from the gunnel: Part 2
Boats with internal fuel tanks have overboard vents. If you refuel on the water (i.e., not on a trailer at the gas station), then any vented fuel goes straight into the water, or into the rag you are trying to hold over the vent. Neither is good. If you have an internal fuel tank, and refuel on the water, please consider using Vent-Tender.
Remove lid from Vent-Tender to allow air from the fuel vent to escape.
Secure lanyard to a railing or other feature above the fuel vent to protect against dropping Vent-Tender overboard.
Place Vent-Tender over fuel vent and secure by pressing suction cups firmly to the hull. Rotate suction cup wing as needed for best fit. A clean hull and moistened suction cups will improve adhesion.
Begin fueling per boat manufacturer instructions and local regulations. While fueling, watch the fuel vent through the Vent-Tender lid opening. Stop fueling immediately if more than minor fuel drips or sputter, carried by air exiting the fuel vent, are present.
Listen carefully to the sound of fuel entering your vessel and stop fueling immediately if there is a change in pitch. It is the user’s responsibility to stop fueling before an overflow condition is generated.
This is standard procedure whether or not you are using Vent-Tender.
After fueling, remove Vent-Tender and empty contents into an approved container.
Store empty Vent-Tender in a well-ventilated area, away from sources of heat or sparks.

We are Mark and Robbie. With our faithful boat dog Benny, and sometimes with friends, kids, and grand-kids, we love taking Off The Clock through the amazing Puget Sound and among the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Genesis 1:9-10.
Who wouldn't want to keep this clean?
After struggling to hold on to the gunnel, hold an absorber over the fuel vent, and add fuel - all at the same time - our friends lent us a refueling aid to make refueling simpler and safer. We loved it and wanted one, but found that they were no longer being produced. In our search, we talked to many people that wished us luck in finding one because they wanted one too. But the previous manufacturer had no plans to resume production so we decided to start production on a very similar product: Vent-Tender.
Parts requiring machining are made/modified, and all units are assembled, in our backyard shop in Washington State. We hope you find using Vent-Tender as beneficial as we have.
Yup, that's it. A small, literally back-yard business, producing a quality product to make your boat refueling cleaner, easier and safer.
P.S. The chandelier was Robbie's idea.
Happy Boating!
We love to hear from our customers, wholesalers and boating friends.
Thanks for visiting.
